Our company, Mining & Environmental Consultants, Inc., is dedicated to providing cost-effective consulting services to the mining and related industries. Our president is Fred B. Brost, a registered professional mining engineer with broad international experience in conceptual planning and design, project management, mineral property evaluation, hydrometallurgy, materials handling, and mine permitting.
Our expertise is in guiding small to medium-sized mining companies through the planning, permitting, engineering and development process. Conceptual planning, a relatively inexpensive but critically important phase of the project, is one of our specialties. We work with our clients during this phase to choose the best mining, metallurgical and environmental alternatives. A sound conceptual plan will always reduce costly problems and delays in later phases of the project.
Another specialty of ours, environmental permitting, goes hand in hand with conceptual planning. Our knowledge of environmental issues and the permitting process enables us to design the mine and plant to obviate avoidable environmental and permitting problems. During the engineering and development phases, we provide the technical expertise to ensure that you get a functional, maintainable, and environmentally-sound project, on time and within budget. Our past projects have included copper, gold, zinc, limestone, mica and decorative stone.
We have obtained federal and state approvals/permits for a wide variety of projects in the USA, Mexico and Chile. Typical approvals include Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements and Mining and Reclamation Plans. Typical permits include Surface Water (Section 404 and 401 Clean Water Act in the US), Air Quality, Ground Water Protection and Storm Water Runoff (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permits in the US).
If you are planning a mining project, give us a call to discuss how we might assist your project team.
We speak English, Spanish and Tok Pisin.
